“The 6ixth Man is a timely and must-read book. It’s filled with great stories and tells what sports can do for any person willing to look in the mirror and challenge themselves. Yet, it does more than just testifying, it is a guidebook and workbook offering a blueprint for developing the right mindset, character, and work ethic. It is an inspired work that can’t help but to inspire people to become better persons and athletes.”
- Scott N. Brooks, author of Black Men Can’t Shoot and professor of sociology at the University of California at Riverside.
“An inspiration for anyone who has ever had a dream about attaining something larger than themselves. The 6ixth Man is a touching journey of one man’s success by the loss of a dream and the rebirth of another. A must read.”
- Val T. Hill, CEO/President, 16:14 Entertainment LLC
That’s me in the folding chair doing what I did for the greater part of 8 years from ninth grade to my senior year of college. From the superstar to the end of the bench, every player must add value to the team and such value is housed in the true evaluation of one’s identity. I didn’t know it when I was 9 years old but by my 30th birthday, “NOT playing basketball” had taken me to school like Jordan does to those old guys who pay thousands to attend his fantasy camp.
I wrote this book to give a voice to the divine virtues that were imparted to me by the gracious God of the universe. It’s the story of how something seemingly insignifcant took control of my life and shaped it through struggle. I’m the guy no one knows but resembles and I’m convnced that my life without these 12 lessons wouldn’t be a life at all. Prepare to read more than my journey. Be brave enough to discover your own and learn insights that only YOUR LIFE could teach you. Get ready to Play Your 6ixth Man.
